Talk Like A Pirate Week is winding down at PDW, which has been a lot of fun. If you've missed it, you've missed a speed scrap, a treasure hunt, and lots of funny convos.

The Booty Bags (grab bags) went on sale, and will only be available through Tuesday night. On Wednesday, they will be opened and priced separately. I've seen what's in a few of them, and believe me, you're getting a deal! A few people have been curious, so here's a little peek as to what's in mine.

In case you don't know, Talk Like a Pirate Day is PDW's big sale/holiday every year. Next up, shameless personal plugging. LOL I have two new paper packs, a set of photo masks, and a CU overlay set new in the store the week. The overlays are designed with different amounts of grunge and dingyness so you can adjust the destruction factor on your papers. You can even layer two or more for different effects. If you haven't snagged the It's For the Birds Blog Train Collab yet, you only have a few more hours. The links come down tonight and tomorrow it goes on sale in the store.

Because.....tomorrow is the kickoff of the NSD Weekend! I know everyone is having sales and special events this weekend, but here are the ones I won't miss.

If I can get this FTP figured out, I will have new kits and paper packs in the store this weekend, and they will (hopefully LOL) be on sale! Moving right along, yes, I'm still CTing, I love my designers, and I have to show you some of their stuff and what I did with it. This first one, I know there aren't many components to the page, but I chunked and re-did this one about 4 times to get exactly the effect I wanted, and I think it turned out pretty cool.

This is made with Jude's January Kit which is actually a New Year's Kit! I know that New Year's and football naturally go together, but this just shows you how you can get a lot of mileage out of "theme" kits.

Julie.Itis has two new kits, and I can't decide which one I like better.

Pssst - you didn't hear this from me, but her everything in her store is going to be on sale for $2 this weekend!

Clearwire came out last night to see why I'm having such a hard time staying connecting to the internet suddenly. It turns out they had moved the tower I receive my signal from. The tech told me that I should be able to get better signal than ever before if I just move my modem (which would mean moving the computer with it, since the cord on the modem is only about 8 feet long) and put it in either the window above my DD's bed, or the window above my kitchen sink. For some reason, he just didn't understand why those weren't really options for me. If I have the computer in my room, the living room, or the dining room, I will continue to get very little signal most of the time. So now I have to figure out what to do about internet service.

But the good (?!?!) news is that I should get fantastic signal where my computer is now from about 5am to 9am daily. So I was finally able to get the element add on for Showers 'n Flowers uploaded, and here it is.

There's a bracket mat, a tree, a fence, a flower pot, more grass, a couple buttons, a couple bows, a couple butterflies, a couple bugs, 14 things in all.

Well, here we go again. I've spent hours trying to upload to 4shared, and it's not working. So I gave up and tried to load it at Digital Candy, but my internet keeps losing signal. I will keep trying.

But on a positive note, we (the children's group from our church and a handful of parents) went to see Power Unlimited this evening. If they're going to be in your area, you HAVE to go. They're body builders and ministers who present a positive, non-denominational message about self-worth, staying drug free, and the gospel, mixed with loud music and cool stuff like breaking concrete blocks, bending metal pipes, ripping (full!) soda cans in half, breaking baseball bats, and rolling up metal frying pans. Needless to say, the kids loved it. You can find them here:

Thank you so much to everyone who's commented, voted, and downloaded the Showers ' Flowers kit from Faith Sisters. In case you missed what's goin on, I'm in a design competition, which you can read about in the previous post. OMGosh. Where do I even start?

I'm in the Faith Sisters Design Team contest!!! There are (so far) 18 entries, {edited: make that 23!} and you the scrappers get to help choose, by downloading our kits, leaving comments and voting. Yep, that means you get up to 18 kits for FREE!

I've been busy. LOL Seriously, I was laid off from my job just as my stepad was coming home from the hospital and needing a fulltime caregiver. Pretty cool how those things work out, huh? So, while I'm sitting here with him, I've gotten a LOT of scrapping done.

Wow, where has this year gone? Christmas totally snuck up on me. It seems like it should still be like August!

Just a reminder, the For Unto Us charity kit is still available at PDW. Not only is it a great cause, but it's absolutely an amazing kit. You won't know where to start scrapping with it because there are soooo many possibilities.

This blog is such an inspiration to me, seeing how much this family has been through, and how their faith has remained strong through it all.

We all go through rough patches in our lives. And as we go through these hardships, we lean on each other and our faith to comfort us. Tragedy has recently befallen one of our own. Nearly three weeks ago, 28 weeks pregnant, her water broke and had an emergency c-section to deliver her babies. Both of which were born without heartbeats. While the doctors were able to resuscitate one of her sons, the other, Baby Dex, didn't make it.There were a number of complications, none of which caused any of the others. As Megan learned after the fact, her water breaking was the best thing that could have happened and was what allowed Baby Crew to be born fast enough to save his life. Megan has been generous enough to allow us all to share this time with her. Wow, where do I start?

First off, I want to mention two great causes. Trina Clark, clip art designer extroidinairre, has been having a rough year. Her husband was diagnosed with cancer, she broke her leg, (which is still giving her trouble) and now they're in danger of losing their home.
